CPD Course: Digital Therapeutics in Occupational Therapy

Join us for an insightful exploration of the development of Digital Therapeutics (DTx). By the end of this course, you will know what DTx are, why they were developed, who they were developed for, and they can serve our population. The benefit of DTx to your tool kit as an OT will be explored as well as the practical implementation thereof, for the benefit of both you and your clients.
Although case-studies will be OT-centric, this course is beneficial and open to HCP's that are not OT's.

4 Clinical CEU's:

• Attendance and duration of attendance will be verified = 1 point
• Journal Article + Multiple Choice Questions will be self-administered after the course = 3 points

• The exciting development of Digital Therapeutics (DTx) and what the research says.
• ⁠How Digital Tools can be integrated into Occupational Therapy (OT) and benefit our clients and ourselves as OT's.
• ⁠The role of AI in health care and mental well-being / mental health.
• A case-study of practical implementation of Digital Therapeutics for mental health into South African Occupational Therapy practice, with first-hand experiences and insights.
• Applying Digital Therapeutics as a holistic approach to rehabilitation in all phases of recovery / rehabilitation i.e., from the acute phase to returning to work.
• Practical application of DTx in the Multidisciplinary Team.

Meet the Presenters

Tafi Mazikana - Co-founder and CEO of Vimbo Health
Vimbo Health is a South African made Mental Health Digital Therapeutic, currently used by South African OT's to help reduce and manage Depression and Anxiety. As a Digital Therapeutics provider, Tafi brings up to date industry leading insights on Digital Therapeutics, as well as practical implementation knowledge highly relevant to the South African context.

​Samantha Harrison - Occupational Therapist - BSc OT (WITS)
Sam is an experienced and well-rounded Occupational Therapist and Practice Owner, with over 17 years of experience as an occupational therapist. Sam has worked in a variety of fields in occupational therapy including Adult Rehabilitation, Medico-Legal, Sensory Integration/pediatrics, before settling in her areas of passion: Neurology and Vocational Rehabilitation. Sam prioritizes the dynamic needs of her patients, offering her clients a variety of therapeutic approaches which are up to date, and evidence based. Digital Therapeutics is an up-and-coming new approach to equipping clients with an independent approach to managing their health challenges - independence being a core pillar of occupational therapy.
